The high-current-proof lead acid rechargeable battery series UP by Panasonic for uninterruptible power supplies and providing stand-by power is characterised by a high energy density and a fast charging capability. The positive and negative electrodes are made of a lead-tin calcium alloy, the fiber glass separators contain high acid resistancy and low electric conductivity. A security valve with response pressure 1 to 6 Psi allows excess gas to escape and stabilizes the optimal inside pressure. The ABS leak-proof rechargeable battery case allows application in any position. The energy density is approx. 30% higher compared to conventional lead-acid batteries. The batteries are suitable for short discharge times of up to 30 minutes.
